Diplomacy Links

Diplomacy zines and general information
Introductory Diplomacy Web Site Thaddeus Black and Jake Orion run the Internet Diplomacy Point of Introduction web site. It introduces the game for new users and provides many links to other diplomacy related sites. Well worth a look for both new and veteran Internet diplomacy players.
The Diplomatic Pouch This is a great resource for anyone interested in PBEM Diplomacy (or just Diplomacy in general), with a very good zine, archives and links. Look there for information on the automated ‘Judge’ software system. Highly recommended if you haven’t seen it before! NB: See Craig Murray's article on Versailles - 'Peace in Our Time' - published in the Fall 2001 Dip Pouch Zine issue here.
Diplomacy Archive Another very good Diplomacy source. This site replaces and expands upon a previous zine link (Spring Offensive), also from Stephen Agar. For those interested in variant design and evaluation, check out some of Stephen Agar’s articles on the subject.

Diplomacy playing community links
Cat23 For 'manually adjudicated' PBEM diplomacy. Myself and others run Versailles games there occasionally.
DipWorld on Yahoo Another list-based Club for 'manually adjudicated' PBEM diplomacy. Versailles has been played there too. It looks a pretty good set up to me! They recently had to re-locate - this is the new link.
The Judge System The Dip Pouch is the place to go for an introduction to the automated Judge system.

Diplomacy support and mapping programs
These are the ones I've either prepared Versailles map and/or game files for, or otherwise support the variant. See the DipPouch resource pages for others.
DipChief Gary Pennington's Diplomatic Chief Of Staff program is one of those excellent supporting software packages that thoughtful people create for the benefit of others. In this case, it takes Judge parsed result messages and plots everything for you on a map, while building up a record of all the entered moves which can be scrolled through. Check out this link to Gary's DipChief home page if you are interested. I have prepared the required files needed to run the Judge version of Versailles on DipChief. They are on my Versailles Maps Page.
Realpolitik Like Dipchief, Jim Van Verth's Realpolitik is another well known mapping support program. The latest release has great functionality. There are Windows and Mac versions. It allows for manual map generation (which can be saved as pictures) as well as being able to accept Judge parsed results. It will also allow manual input of orders, automatic adjudication and print great results summaries, all a fantastic help for a harried GM of non-Judge PBEM games. This link takes you to Jim's Realpolitik home page. I have prepared the files needed to run Versailles on Realpolitik, although they still need a little work before they are completely reliable. They are accessible from my Versailles Maps Page or by clicking here.
Floc.Net I'm not too familiar with it yet, but it looks like a good resource. The stated purpose of the Floc.Net system is to track all games played on Judges. The address observer@floc.net should be automatically signed on every time a game start is announced. The map of a game is redrawn when results are received, using the 'mapit' program. Versailles (standard and advanced) is supported. The Floc.Net help file expalins a whole bunch of other things that the system can do to assist with game management.
