Mapping and Program Support Files for Versailles v3.1

DipChief

For those of you who use Gary Pennington's Diplomatic Chief Of Staff, I have prepared (through DipChief v1.3.3) the required map and bmp files. See the Links page for a link to Gary's web site, from where you can get a copy of DipChief and instructions on how to add new variants. The 25 May 02 amendments are cosmetic only (colour changes), so if you're already using Dipchief for existing games, there are no known bugs or substantive changes. The main things is making Poland less lurid and giving it a more traditional colour. The files for v3.1 (the same file covers both the Adv and Std Judge versions) are zipped together here:

DipChief Files Filename: versailles3.zip; 25KB (Updated 25 May 02)

Realpolitik

The files for Jim Van Verth's Realpolitik mapping and adjudication program (release 1.6) have been updated to match the colour changes of the 25 May 02 map updates, and also to correct a bug where EMS and Kur were not listed as contiguous (thanks John Strain for identifying that one). They've had a bit of a test with the input of both standard and advanced Judge parsed results, as well as 'manual' orders input. They seem to work fine and RP 1.6 has very good functionality. See the Realpolitik web site for a copy of the program if you need it. You'll need to consult Realpolitik as to how to install them under separate folders in the variants section of the Realpolitik directory.

The files for v3.1 are zipped together here:

Realpolitik Versailles Variant Files - Advanced Filename: Realpolitik3adv.zip; 80KB. This will cater for all 'manual' and the Judge 'advanced' game formats. (Updated 25 May 02)

Realpolitik Versailles Variant Files - Standard Filename: Realpolitik3std.zip; 80KB. NB: Only needed for the Judge 'standard' (fixed minors, seven powers) Versailles 3.1 version. (Updated 25 May 02)

MapMaker, Mapper etc.

If you need a separate copy of the MapMaker format map as used on the Judge, please e-mail me. For those of you who run Mapper, Mapit or are after ps format maps or other MapMaker files, David Norman's web site is the best place to go. He usually includes the appropriate files when he introduces a new variant or version to his USTR Judge. Just hit his site and then drill down to the appropriate page and file download. You'll need to update the Mapper files as directed.

Zipped BMP Maps etc.

If you need them, you can access zipped colour and/or greyscale BMP maps from these links:

Greyscale BMP Filename: Versailles3newbw.zip; 15KB; B/W BMP image (Updated 1 Jan 00)
