"MARS" Scenario

=The Situation=

Five governments established bases on Mars. Working together, they managed to
convert large portions of the Martian polar ice caps into a useable water supply,
beginning the process of Terraforming MARS into a human friendly world.



Just as they were poised to begin the next step, something went wrong back home.
Communications ceased without warning; even navigational telemetry from the Mars
orbiters stopped. Assuming the worst--a major war, the end of civilization, or
both--the colonists succumbed to irrationality. Contact between the five bases
was cut off, and attitudes have grown cold.

Dissident humans who believe that communications were cut off intentionally have
revolted and set up their own base. They refer to themselves as "Martians".
Yet other unconnected factions of anarchists roam the hostile Martian terrain.

As leader of one of the bases, you have a choice. You can seek to conquer your
neighbors and unify Mars by force, or you can strive to regain contact with
(and recolonize) Earth and find out what happened.



To do so you will need to reseach into a range of technologies
that enable your faction to survive and prosper on Mars.
