Dimensional Portals can be built to enable transit
from the Earth to 2 other very different worlds
Earth :
The planet in this game called Earth is very similar to our
Earth,
but the shape and placement of the islands and continents is very
different.
In this game Earth also has an Undersea Zone
- a "Deep Ocean" realm for covert Submarine operations.
The modern submarine (but not U-Boats) can travel between Sea
Surface and the Deep Ocean,
submerging and surfacing at will, provided that the Sub is not in
shallow water over the
continental shelf. Subs can thus escape attack from surface naval
units or air units.
Subs can also carry Missiles so as to lie in wait in the deep
ocean trenches waiting to
surface to attack enemy targets at an opportune time. Note that
unlike the modern sub,
U-Boats can only skim under the surface of the sea, they cannot
'dive' into the deep ocean.
Barren World :
Food is scarce in the Barren World. However it is very resource
rich.
To build cities successfully here you will need to build your
cities
on Bare Rock tiles, near Sludge Mites and Spore Clumps. Set up
food
trade routes from your Earth base cities. Irrigate any
surrounding bare rock.
Ancient World :
Internal combustion engines do not work in the Ancient World.
You will be forced to rely on less powerful, slower units and to
employ
differing tactics to those that are effective on our Earth in
order to
conquer the other groups.

Note that the 3 alternate worlds are geographically similar, but
not identical.
To Win - Conquer the other 6
civilisations which are scattered across the various alternate
worlds.
You can either start out in the modern world and attempt to
discover InterDimensional Portal
Technology in order to reach the other alternate worlds or you
can choose to play as
the Indigenes or the Norsemen on one of the Alternate Worlds,
build and develop your
Civilisation there and wait for the other Civs to invade from an
alternate dimension.

"As our ship was entering the atmosphere of Funestis,
and our Escape-Pods were
jettisoning, there was a report that one of the last acts of our
ship's sensing devices
was the detection of a 'blip' nearby which could only have been another
spacecraft
entering the planet's atmosphere at about the
same time as we were descending.
Whether this 'blip' represented another human craft or something
else entirely is yet unknown...

Your escape-pod has landed with the remnants of a Marines
detachment, a Commando
group and a complement of Ship's Security.
These units are a finite resource and, once lost, can never be
rebuilt.
Decide whether you wish to seize the opportunity to use these
forces to scout and
perhaps forage for equipment and supplies from other groups or
whether you wish
to use them in a defensive manner, husbanding your strength for
later.
You *MUST* research into "Indigenous Weaponry"
construction as soon as possible
if you are to survive on this unknown, potentially hostile world.

original UNIT-MANIA Modpack.

In addition to most of the extra units from "Unit-Mania,

there are new units capable of exploring the various levels of
the world (& beyond).
Earth, Under the Sea and Under the Earth,
Stratosphere & Orbital Platforms.

Use U-boats to secretly ferry diplomats and spies to enemy
territory!
Hide your Submarines in the deep ocean with
their cargo of deadly missiles
and only rise to the surface to wreak havoc on the enemy !
Lay Sea-Mines in your strategic waterways to
deter enemy shipping !
Tunnel under Enemy fortifications to undermine
their defensive perimeter
or tunnel under the continental shelf to link up islands and move
troops
from island to island without the need for a navy !
Build underground cities in Tunnels under the
Earth's surface !

flying to and fro in Space Shuttles
or via Geo-Stationary Orbital Elevators !
Only when Orbit is reached can an interstellar starship,
capable of reaching Alpha Centauri, be built.

Game Undersea Scenario
This Scenario for the ToT ExtendedOriginal game, fixes a
number of
bugs in the original, changes one unit
and adds 3 extra units into the game-play,

Extended Original
Game 4-Worlds Modpack




This mod-pack adds one extra alien race and two
extra worlds (Beta Centauri I and II)
into the standard ExtendedOriginal Play. However note that this
is likely to make game play *LONG*.
Also, the 3 previously empty Unit Slots are utilised. - See
Embedded Read-me for further details.
Note - This mod-pack is designed to be used in conjunction with
the
"Alternate (Lighter) Terrains for 'Original' and 'Extended'
games" as mentioned above.

Game No Starships, No Aliens Modpack




NO Aliens, NO Starships, Extra
Contemporary Units ,
as well as the new ExtendedOriginal Human units,
2 Extra Worlds (Different to the worlds in the
previous Modpack.).
I got tired of building Spaceship parts when I knew that in a few
more moves I would discover Teleportation.
I wanted more action on the alternate worlds earlier,
and I got tired of the 'unrealistic' infinite travel of the
Railroad,
and I wanted a couple more exotic worlds to play on.
I also wanted to maximise the choices I had when building units.

Terrain Modpacks
I find the original "Earth" terrain and "Alpha
Centauri" terrain graphics a bit too dark,
so I have created various lighter modified sets which I prefer.
There exist early versions of my terrain modpacks at
Cradle of Civilization

- the Apolyton Civilization 2 site.
Or you can use the terrain files from my
OriginalPlus
modpack, or

- This is a Mod-pack for use in the "Original" game
which converts CIV2-TOT Original Units to FW/MGE style.
Maybe some people are more familiar with and prefer these
Original Civ2 Unit Icons.
