the Darling's best kept secret
all year round

A Heritage Homestead in the Australian outback offering accommodation at historic Avoca-On-Darling. Built in 1870's of stone & pine logs, the large rooms and high ceilings are characteristic of the period. Wood fires burn brightly during winter & in summer the wide verandahs provide shade & views across the lawns sloping down to the river.

Extensive gardens of jacaranda and peppercorn trees surround the homestead beyond which stand original out-buildings, fruit and vegetable garden & modern mod-grass tennis court.
Our position on the"pool" created by the lock on the Murray below the Darling Junction ensures a constant water supply for "Avoca" residents and gardens, even during the last drought. You are invited to stay and share the relaxed atmosphere with us and have some fun too!

Avoca Homestead is a landmark in the area. It has "lived" in three centuries, built in the 1800's moved through the 1900's and is now opening its doors for guests in the 21st century.
Avoca Homestead, featured on Channel 9's "GETAWAY", is the ideal place to get away from the "rat race" and "recharge the batteries".
Your hosts Ian and Barbara Law will welcome you to historic Avoca Homestead and its various levels of accommodation.
