Castaulan Beagles

Having grown up with show dogs (Dalmatians), it seemed natural that one day I would follow in my parents footsteps. Castaulan was founded in 1980 with the purchase of a beagle bitch "Vagabond Cascade" from the Barringtons in NSW. She went on to gain her Champion title and when mated, produced my first homebred Champion "Castaulan Tamalaine".

I also purchased a dog and bitch from the Adabuf Kennels "Alpha Centauri" & "Kapiolani", hence my prefix, the first 3 letters of their names, Casey, Tauri & Lani.

I line bred Lani and she produced my second Champion, A very showy 14" tri-coloured dog called "Chancellor". He was a great winner in his time.

I obtained Chancellor's grand daughter "Bencasmin Tess" a few years later, and when mated to my N.Z. import "CH & NZ CH Lord Simoom Of Buckhound", who was a complete outcross, they produced a lovely 13' tan/white bitch called "Snow Dancer". This was the start of a very successful Castaulan Line.

Dancer was mated to "CH Casalbeau Conquerer" and produced 3 bitches and a dog. From the litter I kept two bitches, "Cappuccino" & "Melisande", & the dog "Solomans Gold". They have all produced Champion progeny that have been successful at All Breeds & Specialty Show Level.

"Solo" a tan/white, set a record when he won BIS All Breeds at 91/2 months.

Over the years I have imported beagles from the UK and NZ, and have purchased beagles from recognised breeders to continue to improve my line.

In recent years I have not only sold beagles throughout Australia but have exported to the United Kingdom, Sri Lanka & New Zealand.

Castaulan is the proud Home of Queensland's Top Stud Dogs, that have been the choice of many Specialist Beagle Judges. They have many Champion progeny intrastate, interstate and overseas. It is a small sellect kennel where quality is uppermost in the planned breeding programs, whether it be for pet or show purposes. The puppies are reared in the home under constant supervision till they leave for their new homes.
