I'm
launching my new adventure!
Having owned and operated several very successful retail businesses,
I am now semi-retired and have the time to concentrate on
promoting this wonderful area we live in. |
|
|
I'm building a portfolio of reviews.
These will be published in my column in the Eacham Times -
"Lesley's Gems", and occasionally other publications.
The first one was Innot Hot Springs Revival Eacham
Times 31/01/06. Whos next? Ring or email
for booking: 40972510

cheers, Lesley Moseley

P.S. ps I'm still offering unique and beautiful things
including shawls at Yungaburra Markets. We're next to the
Pineapple Man on the main road. Have a look
at some styles and colours.

Harold West Walk, Millaa Millaa
.
This magic, faery place is literally , at the bottom of my
garden. The magnificent trees shade a wonderfully maintained
(Eacham Shire Council) public walkway and are home to countless
bird and butterfly species. Also, a group of local volunteers,
known as the West Walk Weeders, spend several hours a week
caring for this lovely gem. They have planted hundreds of
new shrubs and trees. Saint Patrick's creek rushes along and
people in the know, have also seen platypus at dusk.
.
Stroll up the street for 6pm and have the best value rump
steak at The Millaa Millaa Hotel. Jenny also has other delicious
dishes.
.
Takes only time, enjoying our magnificent area needn't cost
the earth.

Winfield Park, Malanda
We all know and love the famous Malanda Falls but how many
people have enjoyed the Eacham Shire provided facilities
at Winfield Park? This is a wonderful spot for either your
own special picnic or, as it's not far out of town, (on
the road to Lake Eacham) some delicious, hot fish and chips,
bought from the Malanda Café.
Being right on the bank of the fast flowing, crystal clear
Johnstone River, with its lovely trees and myriad birds
and butterflies, is a pleasant and soothing experience.
Hidden jewels can often be the most valued.

Hasties Swamp Lookout, Atherton
The saying goes : Diamonds are a girl's best friends; however
I think FRIENDS are a girl's best diamonds. What a stunning
necklace I have! Other people can also put a sparkle in
our lives when they help us with every-day processes.
The friendly check-out girls at Woolies not only put my
groceries through for me, but arrange their placement in
my car. Boy, do they give teenagers a GOOD name.
I love to buy fresh breadrolls, smoked salmon, a can of
drink and then head to Hasties Swamp Lookout for my lunch.
Depends on the time of year how much water and therefore
bird species, abound.
Another jewel of our beautiful area.

Lake Eacham Caravan and Holiday Park,
Lakes District, Malanda
This week Ive chosen a beautiful, quiet secret tea-garden,
filled with firetail finches bathing in hand-sculptured
iron lotus flowers. Shaded tables, flowering shrubs and
only the sounds of nature; (old man emu also appears from
time-to-time).
Want more? Liz served us mug-a-chinos and delicious Turkish
Toasties. Her gallery is filled with personal and other
local art, as well as daughter Sandys wonderful photographs.
Take a special friend, as I did.
