Definition of Problem Gambling

Problem Gambling

This is when gambling is causing problems with personal, family, social , legal or occupational pursuits. These problems are caused by spending too much money, time, or emotional energy on gambling related activities. This includes studying the game or developing a system.

When is a person considered to have a gambling problem?

A person has a problem if they continue gambling despite evidence that their gambling is causing personal, social, family, occupational or legal problems.
