Alyangula Community Library
The library provides a wide range of adult fiction and non-fiction books, youth and junior fiction and junior picture books. There is a large selection of children's videos and documentary videos for a two day loan period, plus many popular magazine titles to borrow including Parents, Modern Fishing, Women's Weekly, Country Craft and Choice.
An Inter-Library loan (I.L.L.) service is available at no charge. We have access to bookstock throughout Australia, which can prove invaluable for study or for that special hobby/interest. Ordered books can take from four days to a couple of weeks to come in and are available for loan for one month.
The library's four Macintosh computers have printing facilities and there is one Mac/IBM for general use. There are many CD ROMS to choose from including the complete "Living Book" series as well as many encyclopaedia/reference tiles for use within the library.
The library has access to the World Wide Web (Internet). Come in and set up an e-mail account for yourself with Hotmail or Yahoo!, or simply browse the web for any information you require. This service is available at a minimal price, for 10 minute, half an hour or 1 hour sessions. There is a laser printer connected to our three Internet computers for printing.
There are puzzles and games for the children to amuse themselves while Mum and Dad browse the shelves. Children also have access to the many drawing activities available, which is hugely popular.
The Community Library is a place for the whole family to enjoy. Come along and meet the friendly staff, join up and take advantage of all they have to offer.
