MINING REHABILITATION SIGN

"First we mine and then we mend" is one of the mottos of the Groote Eylandt Mining Company (GEMCO).  In the Anindilyakwan language, the land-owners are asked to give this area a chance to revegetate before carrying out their traditional burning practices.
