LESKE POOLS

Leske Pools (Munumenbumanja) on the Amagula River is a lovely picnic and recreation spot, reached via a four-wheel-drive track from the main road south of Angurugu. It features a sandy beach and rocky areas alongside the river, low hills opposite and some interesting short walks, including upstream to rapids (great for inner tube rides) and "jungle".

During the Wet or early in the year there is a strong flow of beautifully fresh water. The Pools are considered a safe spot to swim with wide, shallow areas suitable for children and no estuarine crocodiles known to be in the area.

Remember that the outstation you pass is private property and access to the river is only via the route shown. Respect the area, be friendly not obtrusive, and take any rubbish home with you.
