CYCADS IN THE WOODLAND

Cycads are common but slow-growing.  They enjoy Groote's open woodland areas.  This photo was taken toward the end of the dry season and show that, in this area, the cycads are the only green things at ground level.   The grasses have died back and are waiting for the wet before springing back to life.
