display tank, 6ftx2ftx2ft, has African Cichlids from Lake Malawi (Mbuna
species). The
water is maintained at pH of 8.0, General Hardness of 10 DH and Carbonate
hardness of 10 DH. I use Aquasonic Rift Lake Salt and Bi-Carb
Soda to attain the necessary water parameters. The tank water is filtered
through a trickle filter and pumped back using an Eheim 1060 pump. I
also use a Fluval
404 external canister filter.

My planted tank can be found at the following link. It is a 4x2x2 with a laterite base (approx 1.5 inches thick) then with light brown gravel. I currently run 5 fluoro tubes (tri phosphor and LifeGrow) but will be getting a CO2 system and metal hallide lighting.
