Notes : NMH - Tues 30 July 1912: "TORONTO" "Mr William John Edwards died at his residence, "Kingswood" Toronto, on Sunday evening l ast. The deceased, who was 64 years of age had been in indifferent health for the past few y ears, and for the last few months had been confined to his bed. The late Mr Edwards had bee n a resident of Toronto for the past twelve months, and prior to this had been for about 50 y ears a resident of Newcastle, where he was well and favourably known. Mr Edwards was connect ed with the railway service for a period of 45 years, and retired three years back. He wil l be well remembered as a guard on the mail trains running through to the border, and laterl y on the suburban passenger service. He leaves a widow, two sons, Mr Fred Edwards, of Toronto , Mr George Edwards of East Maitland, and one daughter, Mrs J Garratt, of Carrington. The fu neral will leave Toronto by a special train at 1.45 pm, today for Sandgate Cemetery where th e interment will take place."
