The Holy Spirit - God's gift to us

It is possible to rediscover the power that Jesus gives his people through the Holy Spirit. You can discover the power to live with others in love and peace, especially in your family or your marriage.

You can find healing, comfort, strength and direction. Above all, you can discover a deeper and more personal relationship with Jesus Christ as your Lord and Saviour.

Is this possible?

Why wouldn't all this be possible? God wants all this for you and there are no limits to his power to make it happen.

    What difference does the Holy Spirit make?

    The power of the Holy Spirit can make a vital and tangible change in your life. Through the Healing Mass and other programmes we offer during the year you will see this power at work and begin to experience this new life for yourself.

    The Spirit - Jesus' powerfu1 presence in our lives

    At the last supper Jesus made a promise to his disciples:

  • "1 will pray to the Father and he will give you another Advocate to be with you forever, the Spirit of truth." Jn. 4.16
    •

    Jesus knew that when he was no longer on earth, his disciples would not be able to live the kind of life he had called them to by his own strength and ability. So he promised to his disciples the very Spirit of God, and on,

    the First Pentecost that Spirit came down upon them,. to remain with them forever.

  • "You will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you, and then you will be my witnesses not only in Jerusalem but throughout Judaea and Samaria, and indeed to the ends of the earth. " Acts 1.8

    The lives of the disciples were rapidly transformed by the Holy Spirit.

    The Power to Heal

    There is a dire need for healing in our world in all dimensions of life and at every level of our society. We would like to see the whole world's ills healed but it starts with each individual person.

    We all have our own life story with its hurts and pains, illnesses, tragedies and losses. It is vitally important that we bring those needs before the Lord Jesus Christ so that we are set free from those things that bind us and restrict us.

    When Jesus began his public ministry he read from the Prophet Isaiah.

  • "The Spirit of the Lord is has been given to me. He has anointed me and sent me to bring the good News to the poor, to proclaim liberty to the captives and to the blind new sight to bind up hearts that are broken and proclaim the Lord's favour. " Lk. 4. 18

    There is a cycle of alienation and hurt and pain that runs through the lives of many people. Much of it is passed on in a relentless cycle. This cycle can be broken if we allow the Lord into our lives in a new way. Only he has the power to heal and to set free. The more we are healed as individuals the more we can contribute, through the power of the Spirit at work in us, to the world's healing.

     

    What: can I expect from the

    Healing Masses?

    It seems that we live in a world of increasing alienation and violence, difficulties in relationships, all kinds of hurts and losses. In our human condition we are also subject to serious illness, pain, depression, anxiety, and other things that trouble people.

    The Healing Masses provide an environment, where many of these problems can be counteracted through the experience of a loving, supportive community and especially through the power of God’s Spirit at work in us. We can experience the same healing power that the first disciples experienced and so come into the new life in the Spirit.

    It will be the beginning of a new life, a while new way of relating to God and other people. You have nothing to lose but everything to gain.
