It tells the story of  the discovery of Bulahdelah Mountain, timber, Aboriginal people and the Myall area, rumoured murder of the district's first white woman, how a burning log revealed alumstone, a photographer's visit in 1892, mining (the mine, its factory, successes, hopes and disappointments), bushfires, the big flood of 1927, development of medical care, a botanists' seventh heaven (89 species of orchid!) and discovery of a very rare orchid, fatal accidents, establishment of a Mountain Park, popular walking trails, lookouts and more.
