'Graduation'As of yesterday, 9th December 2003, I have officially 'graduated' from the the Sydney Cochlear Implant Centre's Program. This means that I have now finished with the appointments and adjustments and have completed the final tests - the same speech perception tests that I had to do prior to implant are repeated so as to get a before and after picture of the difference the implant makes. I now only need to attend the centre in 12 months or unless something comes up that needs urgent attention to. Had my first proper 'test' of my music abilities last night with my wife and I spending some time at our church playing and singing and having a great time. A little bit of work to do but we are on the way of making some sort of return to the musical world that I love. So I have another one of those tables below that shows the results of the speech tests including the pre-CI scores as well as the averages (of all people in program) for pre and post CI tests. If someone has some sort of link that explains the results below I would much appreciate it. I know what the results mean to me but struggle somewhat in how to explain to others. Anyway, without even knowing what exactly the results mean, you can see that they are pretty good!!
