17^th and 18^th May -Mingara OPEN (Category 2 Grand Prix Event)

2nd June - 14th July Fixed Opening TOURNAMENT Scandinavian (e4 d5) -6 rounds

90 minutes per player per game 1 game per night. No competition on Queens

birthday Holiday 9th of June. The first moves of the opening must be played.

21st July - 4th August FAST HANDICAP 6 rounds 2 rounds per night

- 25 min guillotine with 1 minute penalty for each 25

(or part) points above opponent's rating. 90 seconds minimum..

11th August -22nd September CLUB CHAMPIONSHIPS 7 rounds

90 minutes per player per game, 1 game per night

6th October Public Holiday - Social Chess

13th October – 27th October Points Handicap Tournament

25 min per player per game 6 rounds 2 rounds per night.

Players are allocated points at the start of the tournament

the lower your rating the more points you receive.

3rd November CLUB LIGHTNING CHAMPIONSHIPS - 7 or 9 rounds

(depending on numbers of players)

10th November- 24th November Mingara Rapidplay Championship

6 rounds, 2 rounds per night

20 minutes plus 10 sec from the start

November 2008 - Gosford Open - A weekend tournament held at the Central Coast Leagues

1^st of December- 8^th December Club Allegro Championships - 9 rounds

15 minutes per player per game,4 games on the 1st December and 5 games on the 8th December.
