Prima . . .

In gennaio 2002, mio marito e io sono andati a San Giovanni in Fiore. La città è molto interesante e molto tradizionale.

Durante la nostra vacanza sono andata al municipio. I personali del municipio erano molto gentile. Hanno trovato per me i ricordi di nascita dei miei bisnonni e i altri parenti.

In luglio 1897, i miei bisnonni, Michele Pignanelli e Maria Teresa Oliverio, hanno emigrato agli Stati Uniti da San Giovanni in Fiore. 21 luglio sono arrivati a Ellis Island.

Da Ellis Island sono andati a Spokane, Washingtion. La sorella di Maria, Caterina, già abitava vicino a Spokane con il suo marito, Francisco Gerimonte.

Il fratello di Michele, Francesco, è arrivato a Ellis Island 5 luglio 1900. Abitava a Spokane per un piccolo tempo prima di è tornato a Italia.

Finalmente . . .

Le nipote di Michele, Angilenna e Maria Saletta Pignanelli, hanno emigrato agli Stati Uniti con la assistenza di Michele. Le sorelle sono le figlie dello fratello di Michele, Giovanni.

In Janaury 2002, my husband and I went to San Giovanni in Fiore. The city is very interesting and very traditional.

During our vacation I went to the town hall. The staff there were very kind. They found the birth records of my great-grandparents and other relatives.

Next . . .

In July 1897, my great-grandparents, Michele Pignanelli and Maria Teresa Oliverio, emigrated to the United States from San Giovanni in Fiore. On the 21st of July they arrived at Ellis Island.

From Ellis Island they went to Spokane, Washingtion. Maria's sister, Caterina, was already living near Spokane with her husband, Francisco Gerimonte.

Then . . .

Michele's brother, Francesco, arrived at Ellis Island 5 July 1900. He lived in Spokane for a little while before returning to to Italy.

Finally . . .

Michele's nieces, Angilenna e Maria Saletta Pignanelli, emigrated to the United States with Michele's assitance. The sisters were the daughters of Michele's brother, Giovanni.
