The NT Department of Infrastructure, Planning and Environment (DIPE) are warning that cane toads are already in Kakadu National Park, Katherine and Pine Creek. They will probably reach Darwin this wet season.

The Parks and Wildlife Service advises that when toads start arriving they should be disposed of in a humane way. The most humane way is to use a plastic shopping bag to pick the toad up, double bag it, tie it tightly and freeze it overnight.

The NRETA website has more information that we encourage all members to read and there are also  brochures to download: Natural Resources and the Arts website.

FrogWatch also has a website with more information.

Former Darwin resident Lorraine Chippendale has also included a really informative page on her Chinaroad Website.  This website also includes information on a range of other topics such as Ticks, Natural Flea Remedies, Bee Stings, Spider Bites, Fly Bites, Snake Bites & Vitamin C, Snake Proofing Fences and First Aid.
