India/Ladakh
There's something for everyone in India, and if you're willing to put up with the 'not up to scratch' conditions you'll find it. The biggest republic in the world is absolutely amazing. The mixture of religions, cultures and races make it unforgettable. You'll find anything from holy men to yuppies here. Everyday will hold an abundance of misery, adventure and intrigue, guaranteed!
Highlights
Ladakh's monasteries
Lord Shivas birthday celebrations, I went to a Hindu party for this one, pretty cool stuff.
Seeing rural India with it's crop fields and buffaloes.
Meeting the super rich and ultra poor.
Seeing westerners doing good thing in Calcutta for the poor and terminally ill.
Low-lights
Child labour, but let's not forget these guys are the fortune ones.
Nightmare train rides. OK, I didn't pay the fare but sleeping next to an Indian train toilet has to count for something.
Rating
An absolute must for anyone that is interested in life and doesn't mind a bit of discomfort.
