The OLF Parish Caring Group

The OLF Caring Group aims to reach out with care and compassion to support those in need. Their work includes:

  • Visitation of the elderly and sick in their homes, hospitals and nursing homes.
  • Providing practical support for the housebound.
  • Following-up in a supportive way the families of those recently bereaved. This includes inviting them to morning tea after Mass. These functions are held quarterly.
  • Providing the opportunity for frail, aged or sick persons to be anointed at midday mass (last Friday of the month) or by alternative arrangement.
  • Organising an Annual Mass for bereaved families of the Parish in November each year.
  • Organising a Christmas luncheon each November for senior parishioners.

It is recognised that throughout the Parish people are going out and about and in their own quiet way showing support and kindness to those around them in need. Their hands are an extension of Jesus' hands reaching out to others. To belong to the Caring Group is to do this work in a structured way.

If you are interested in becoming part of the Caring Group, or know of someone who is need of care, please contact the contact the parish office.
