Dromana, Victoria

According to the Dromana & District Historical Society, Dromana township was first subdivided in 1854.
It is believed that Dromana was named after the ancestral home of the Desmonds of Blackwater, County Cork, Ireland.
The first house was built in 1857. The town has a number of buildings of historical significance including Heronswood built in 1871, St Marks Anglican Church built in 1892 and the Old Shire Office built in 1928.
