Williamstown Swap & Sell Day

Held on 14 October 2001.
Again the Western Antique Bottle Club of Melbourne have held a successful Swap & Sell day, this event has been on the calender for the last few years now and has always been a success.
The club has not held a competitive bottle show for a number of years, but the trend seems to be heading towards these smaller Swap & Sell days, but over all it was a great day, and I found some bottles for my own collection.
Geelong Show Report
Another great Victorian show with a lot of people traveling from Melbourne and interstate to attend
the Geelong Show, Hosted by the Geelong Antique Bottle & Collectables Club Inc.
This was a Non-competitive which allows people to show items they would not normally display at a
bottle show, with an M & M display, lot of Homeware displays and of coarse a few nice Geelong Displays.
There was the usual rush of buying as the displays were being set up that continued until about Lunch
time, then it slowed a bit, a good attendance from the public and a lot of novice collectors were apparent
with all the questions I was asked about this and that, most traders reported good sales at the swap n sell
tables.
It was a great show and worth attending next year.
Cranbourne Show Report
There was a good turn out for this Victorian show with a lot of people traveling from interstate to attend
the Cranbourne Show, Hosted by the Mornington Peninsula Antique Bottle & Collectables Club Inc.
This was a Non-competitive which allows people to show items they would not normally display at a
bottle show, this proves for some very interesting displays, for example Terry Opie showed Stoneware
Bird Feeders, Robin Cousins displayed ‘Lewis & Witty’ bottles which are mostly Phenyle Oils and essence
bottle, Richard Goldsworthy ‘RG’, Showed a Huge display of Queen Victoria items.
There was the usual rush of buying as the displays were being set up that continued until about Lunch
time, then it slowed a bit, a good attendance from the public and a lot of novice collectors were apparent
with all the questions I was asked about this and that, most traders reported good sales at the swap n sell
