IN DAVID'S AND JERRY'S FOOTSTEPS

PRECIS.
  I was diagnosed with ALS in May 1997. In Febraury 1998 I started on Sanofi and the treatment described in Edgar Cayce Reading 5019-1 M 34.

  Like David Atkinson and Jerry Willingham before me I am recovering. This is my story.

BACKGROUND.
I was born in 1930 and raised in British Columbia, Canada on a small farm. I married a lovely girl from my home town and we are still happily married after forty four years. We have two children and four grandchildren. I worked for the Canadian Federal Government for 34 years, always in environmentally clean work.
I retired at age 57 and spent 10 great years travelling.
           
SYMPTOMS AND CAUSE (MY THEORY).
  My first symptom in May 1996 was a dropped toe. I played squash and was in good physical condition so I tried to exercise the symptom out. About ten months later the left side of my face started being affected. A visit to my doctor, followed by a neurologist and an EMG quickly confirmed that I had ALS.
I was given the usual prognosis.
   I believe the cause of my ALS was heavy metal contamination. Since I was never exposed to heavy metals in a work/home situation I believe the source was my teeth amalgams. (DMPS pulled three times the expected normal levels of mercury out of my system). About three years before my first symptom I had a hernia operation with a spinal anaesthetic. It took me an abnormal 5-6 hours to come out of it - I think at that time my immune system failed me.
        
EARLY EFFORTS.
  After my diagnosis I went back to my neurologist who said the only thing in Western medicine was Rilutek. He recommended Dr. Weill's book, 8 Weeks to Optimum Health. I quit caffiene, regular tea, alchohol, red meat, shellfish and went on an improved nutritional diet. I also started to practice breathing and mental visualization exercises. I went to a highly recommended homeopath and acupuncturist without success.
Under the care of an environmental doctor I had a variety of tests done and started on vitamins, minerals and other supplements. She did chelation to cleanse my system of heavy metals
She also strongly recommended I replace my teeth amalgams.
       
JERRY WILLINGHAM.
While I had read David Atkinson's story it did not strike me the same way as Jerry's did. To have a normal EMG, what a blessing that would be!  We were going for a holiday in British Columbia and I arranged to meet Jerry in Seattle. I was impressed with him and his achievement and decided to emulate his efforts.  I did everything Jerry did except herbs and kiniseology.  I did one thing he didn't do. I could not go high vegetarian without losing weight so I had gelatin with my raw vegetables, this was based on Cayce readings.
       
TEETH AMALGAM REPLACEMENT.
This was done in a controlled way to avoid further system contamination by a dentist trained for the prodecure.
Also prior to each dental visit I had a DMPS and the following day an IV of "good" minerals plus Vitamin C, etc.
On completion I felt my system was relatively clean of contaminants and I was no longer taking in any more toxic material, e.g. through the use of distilled water.
However, eight months after diagnosis, I was continuing to decline slowly.
      
EDGAR CAYCE TREATMENT AND SANOFI.
  In February 1998 I was accepted for the Sanofi trials. At the same time I started the treatment described in Edgar Cayce Reading 5019-1 M 34
After the first month there was no decline and the Sanofi doctors were quite hopeful that I did not have the Sanofi placebo. However for the next six months my decline slowly continued. During this period I tried Allopurinol for four months without success.
     
MY LOWEST LEVEL.
I was fitted for an ankle brace in June 1997. In June 1998 I was measured for a walker since a cane no longer seemed enough for balance and support, I obtained a Lightwriter because my speech was becoming too slurry to be understood,  and I was experiencing  some prelimary difficulty swallowing. But I could drive and still do everything for myself.
      
START OF RECOVERY.
  After 7 months on the Treatment (Wet Cell) I noticed my swallowing came easier, this was followed by speech improvement (I no longer use the Lightwriter) and the cane continued adequate for walking. I attribute this to Cayce and not to Sanofi, Sanofi supposedly extends life but makes no claim to recovery.

PHYSICAL, MENTAL AND SPIRITUAL ATTUNEMENT.
"Cayce saw total health as involving coordination among the physical, mental and spiritual components of life...It has been said that the beginnings of present-day holistic care started from the readings of Edgar Cayce". I am a believer in the Creator and I always knew how to pray. Mentally I was always positive that somehow I could beat ALS but the greatest incentive came from Jerry.
If he could do it why not someone else? Physically I think cleansing the body of heavy metal toxicity, and avoiding further contamination helped me achieve a turn around after 7 months: Jerry and David took longer.
