PEEKAY-CAD

General AutoCAD®

Some tablet selections have both command prompt and dialogue box options.
4.13 Menu area T1
This section has angular and numeric sections, used for relative and absolute point selection, a calculator, dimensioning section, display section, used for changing between standard and isometric, snap section, layer section and miscellaneous section.
4.13.1 An example of using relative point selection is when AutoCAD® prompts you for a second point you can pick from the tablet e.g. "100<135". This makes the second point 100mm away from the first point in a direction of 135 degrees. Absolute point selection can be picked directly from the distance section e.g. "100,100".
4.13.2 Dimensioning is drawn in white (0.25mm pen) with continuous linetype and text in yellow (0.35mm pen).
4.13.3 The Display section is for setting the cross hairs and grid to standard, vertical and horizontal, or isometric.
4.13.4 The snap values can be changed as a transparent command i.e. while another command is in progress.
4.13.5 The Layer section is self-explanatory.
4.13.6 The Miscellaneous section is for plots, setvar, units, renaming, slides, views and a facility for editing the current "MNU" file (for developers only).
4.14 Menu area T2.
This section has text, line, object snap, shape, editing, inquiry, object selection, general and zoom sections.
4.14.1 "ISO3098B" is the standard text font used in the horizontal plain (default) but can be changed to vertical, by picking "ISOVERT".
4.14.2 All of the different parts to the text section allow you to choose which type of text you want e.g. 2.5mm high in white (0.25mm pen) left justified. An option is available to allow you to change text height and therefore changing the colour for the new pen thickness. "REPLACE TEXT" replaces the whole line of text and the command can be repeated by using the enter key. "EDIT TEXT" replaces a piece of text with another piece of text and can also be repeated by using the enter key. "DDEDIT" is a dialogue box for editing text.
4.14.3 All the different parts to the line section are set to draw lines as lines default line mode) but can also draw lines as polylines (pline mode). You can then choose what thickness of line and what linetype e.g. 0.25mm thick in white (0.25mm pen) continuous. Options are available to allow you to change thickness and therefore the colour for the new pen thickness. Linetype can also be changed.
4.14.4 "MODIFY" modifies any entity and works differently on different entity types.
      4.14.5 Object snap is self-explanatory.
4.14.6 Circles and arcs are preceded by the "COLOR" and "LINETYPE" commands so they can be preset.
4.14.7 The "CLOUD" facility draws a cloud as a continuous line in red (0.5mm pen) in a clockwise direction.
4.14.8 Some of the editing commands have options already selected such as the "BREAK" command prompts you for the first point and the second point after the object have been selected. The "STRETCH" command prompts you for a crossing. The "FILLET" command prompts for the radius. The "MIRROR" command will mirror graphics only and not text or attributes.
      4.14.9 Object selections are self-explanatory.
4.14.10 The "UNDO" command will undo commands back one at a time.
4.14.11 The "HELP" command can be used at anytime e.g. with no command invoked will give a list of all standard AutoCAD® commands, if any command is invoked then a brief description of how that command works will be given.

4.14.12 "ZOOM DYNAMIC", "ZOOM PREVIOUS", "ZOOM WINDOW", etc. and "PAN" are transparent commands.
