Gordon Stevenson lives in Sydney, Australia.Gordon was initially interested in Photography as a teen-ager and his interest was rekindled during a holiday in Far North Queensland in 1995 when he borrowed a point & shoot from a friend.
Upon his return to Sydney, he bought a second hand Nikon and a zoom lens and his interest took off in earnest. A year later he bought a Canon EOS 5 and two Canon zoom lenses, all new this time.
He worked initially in colour negatives and later, colour slide film. And has a wealth of great colour work from that period. His interest in making black & white images started in 1997 being inspired, like so many, by the landscape work of Ansel Adams.
In 2000 Gordon took up the challenge of printing his images by undertaking some courses
at the ACP followed this year by further work on producing superior negatives
and then fine-printing under the tutelage of Gordon Undy at
Point Light Gallery. He also purchased a Mamiya 7 II in early 2001
and now works in both 35mm and medium format.
Gordon's work has appeared at student shows at the ACP, including the Student of the Year show
and has participated in a group show with other Point Light & ACP Course colleagues
In February of 2004, he exhibited in a two-man show at Gallery Xposure in Sydney.
