WEP travelled four times to the Pacific War Zone as a War Correspondent for Australian Consolidated Press.  His work and articles featured in the Australian Women's Weekly and the Sydney Daily Telegraph.  The trips were;

The following are a series of letters that WEP wrote to his 1^st wife Jess during his last trip to the Pacific War Zone for The Australian Women's Weekly.  The letters were written over the period July 13 to August 19, 1945 and cover the declaration of Peace in the Pacific and the end of World War 2.
