INTRODUCTION
The study of philosophy leads inevitably to metaphysical considerations..
Well what is metaphysics ?. It is not an easy question to answer in a few words, but I might say briefly, it is "The Study of That Which Is" (or more conservatively ,"How We Think It Is") and consists of the Hidden Worlds and Dimensions behind the material physical world which form the very foundation of it .The Theory of Creation and Dissolution Cycles, Our Remote History as recorded in The Ancient Tradition, and penultimate Destiny as perceived in the Recent Additions are included. The Fundamentals of Theology and Spiritual Philosophy come into it, so that Mysticism and the Occult are also included should be no surprise. Sometimes is appears to be in confrontation with science, but even moreso with church dogma.
Metaphysics attempts to describe the Universe and Man in such coherent terms as allowed by our limited intellects and language, bearing in mind that there are mysteries and some paradoxes. One of the things about metaphysical thought is a recommendation to think in terms of Cosmic Time, regarding an isolated lifespan as less than an eyeblink in the vast eons of recurrent cycles and sub-cycles required by the machinery of the universe and evolution. And so there are two aspects in the approach to metaphysical study, there is man as a Microcosm, and the Cosmos Itself.
In the last few chapters there are described certain Metaphysical Operations, some of which were carried out on a vast scale to preserve the planet and its humanity. It is a strange story, such Revelations of The New Age, which is now well and truly underway, and relates to the latter half of this (the 20th.) century during which momentous events have taken place .
A grasp of the organisation of the cosmos is essential in appreciating the finer points of metaphysical thought, based on the concept of the Number Seven, and the Octave, which incidentally also forms the foundation of Gurdjieff's Cosmogony, so ably expressed by Ouspensky and Kenneth Walker. This book is better read from the beginning, but as aforesaid, selections from the Contents List will be preferred by the dilettante; the first part is intended as a primer for the second, which contains the details of metaphysical operations required for our survival on a number of occasions in the face of which we were helpless. It answers all the questions about what we are, where we are from, and where we are going?. If not readily believed it is a "good read" for anyone mildly curious,or even sceptical. Strange truths are often held in abeyance in the subconscious for a time, before the Intuition confirms their veracity, and so all I ask is an open minded attitude and a lively curiosity for" That Which Is", a definition of Truth I find rather apt and which has aroused a lively discussion in the local philosophy group to which I contribute, and provoke! In these days there is a resurgence of interest in the Occult, which in itself is a Reflection of Metaphysical Effects, producing a plethora of glossy magazines on such related subjects. This is a serious work which should be a guide in the maze of such publications. I have included various snippets of Tradition and Folklore, and described some true Metaphysical Adventures in narrative form, and the occasional homily which I could not resist but still relevant to the general tenor of the book. Tribute is due to the authors of "The Secret Doctrine"( Helen Blavatsky),"The Treatise on Cosmic Fire"(Alice Bailey) and the teaching of George King, that english gentleman and Yogi Adept who founded the Aetherius Society, which is instrumental in providing an Earthly Base for Metaphysical Work of an Advanced Kind. There are some personal references and material from his books.
The significance and work of George King, and its impact on humanity is so profound and far reaching that it is not likely to be fully appreciated by this generation.
