TIME

This is a difficult subject, and yet in the metaphysical mode of thought some appreciation of its true significance can be seen. First of all, it is necessary to rid the mind of the feeling of life being restricted to any one existence, for which time continues regardless. In metaphysics it is required to think in terms of Cosmic Time and to try and imagine the interminable passage of eons and eons in a never ending process of evolution . In this way the individual lifespan takes on a trivial aspect, and allows the imagination to expand.

Time, in the Mind of The Absolute, in that state of abstraction existing before manifestation, did not exist, Everything was created in an inconceivable" Now ". As to whether there was any sequence in a linear or multidimensional pattern of thought in that state, is a matterof speculation . If so, it would require a sort of time beyond our conception. At the "Fiat Create" we imagine the "Monadic Diaspora "to occur, and the Primordial Chaos differentiating into Matter. Time, as we know it could not occur without the motion of matter in the dimensions of space .

Enough has been written about the different ways of measuring time with an accuracy to millionsth of a second to make any reference to this aspect superfluous. Recent work on the nature of the subatomic particles suggests that time is not so immutable as previously thought, sometimes exhibiting passage backwards in time. In a similar more down to earth fashion was the "Phildephia Experiment of 1943 "which was an attempt to make a warship invisible to radar. The aim to make the ship invisible was achieved, but transported it some miles distant inland and 40 years temporarily into the future. The U.S.government tried hard to keep this from the public, but since the people concerned have reached the security of their pensions the story has been told in detail. The results were so disastrous that all such research was abandoned and never repeated (or so we are led to believe).

James Dunne tried to show that the mind advances into the future during sleep and recorded his dreams meticulously, waking in the middle of the night to do so. In this way he managed to foresee a number of occurrences which did take place. The most interesting part of the book postulates an infinite number of "Times", a particular time for every succeeding dimension in order for an observer to exist in observing events on the preceding levels. If this is correct it specifies a time dimension for every level in the septenary complex of the metaphysical cosmos. As far as I know, his work on dreams has never been corroborated , although there are any number of isolated dream premonitions recorded as being accurate. The Totality of Time is to be imagined as beginning with Creation and ending in its Dissolution, an "Eternity of Time".The actual length of such is beyond comprehension, the calculations of astro-physicists are probably very short of the mark.

What is the smallest possible time unit? Matter is believed tobe reducible to the smallest subatomic units, and energy to the ultimate parcel as a photon has been calculated (Planck's constant)and is a well established part of modern theory. Is there then , a similar indivisible unit for time? If so would it be related to the vibratory activity of an electron, say perhaps the interval for the supposed orbiting around a proton, or again the actual frequency of the electron in its seven dimensional vibration , and would these units vary according to the particular level on the septenary scale?

The latest theory concerns the "graviton", which are "dots" in zero time, millions of which go to form a subatomic particle. The dimensions of "time " manifest in space as these tiny dots, but behave as small strings. Refer to the latest books *on the subject. One thing we can sure about is the continued flow of time, "The river in which it is not possible to step in the same place twice". In the mathematical treatment of time, it is the 4 th. dimension, after the three measures of length, breadth and height. The human phase is securely imprisoned in the grip of time ,we are essentially four dimensional creatures. The totality of a human life from beginning to end is to be imagined as a complete entity as viewed from the 5th. dimension, any instant of time in the life of an individual is then a "crosssection"of the 4th. dimensional aspect.

In the terminology of Theosophy as borrowed from the Hindu tradition by Helen Blavatsky, an Eternity is a Mahavantara comprising a whole cycle of Creation/Dissolution .The ancient Brahmin priests calculated a lesser manvantara to be 308,448,000 years, and was part of a Kalpa (4,320,000,000,years)and this in turn into 4 Yugas, the present being the Kali Yuga (esoterically the Iron Age) so often mentioned in literature, and is 432,000 years long . The previous yugas are recorded as much longer, in order of occurrence: the Golden Age 4 times as long, the Silver Age 3 times, and the Bronze Age 2 times as long. The total Four Ages comes to 4,320 000 years. These calculations seem to be far short of any semblance to the "Eternity"of a cycle of Manifestation/Dissolution which require so many billions of years beyond our our capacity to enumerate. Regarding the individual lifestream, an isolated incarnation is only a very small part of that which goes to become "Soulconscious". The life experiences of each embodiment are connected as it were on a string, like a string of pearls called the "Sutratma", the sum total of these in a transmuted state constitutes the "Buddhic Unit" of an individual lifestream .
