My search started when my dad died. Friends at church asked if he was "christian", I said of course, he's catholic. They said "well was he born again?" I said if you mean did he walk down an aisle and say a sinner's prayer then no. They just said "oh" (as in 'oh I'm sorry your father is burning in hell right now). I knew the kind of man my dad was and saw the life that he lived and he was a good guy and I thought how can my dad's eternal place be based on a particular prayer of faith in jesus. That started my journey on questioning what it was that I really believed, instead of what I was always told to believe.
