After my mother died, I lost my faith. Part of it was because I couldn't understand why God would take her away. The other part was because, without her, I was free to explore other religions. After doing so, I took a look back at Christianity and realized how sadistic and bigoted it is. The God of the Old Testament is jealous, insecure, and malevolent. The God of the New Testament tries to undo the damage of the OT God without actually admitting its faults. The Christian God is contradictory and ass-backwards. Why would anyone want to worship a god like that?
