| <<prev | The Joy of Disillusionment - My Journey | next>> |
I have been on a lengthy journey through Christianity and now beyond. I spent many years of my life valiantly and honestly trying to make the Bible make sense. In doing so, and after writing and publishing my own scholarly Christian book in 1994, I found myself for the first time considering the subject from the perspective of being outside of it. This came from reading new books that I had never allowed myself to read previously. This led me into an explosion of research and learning that propelled me out of the small box called Christianity and into a vast and amazing universe I did not expect.
Like so many others who have made this translation, it was a fearful and unsettling paradigm shift, but I have found that the adoption of an authentic human life afterwards is not depressing, depraved, or dull, but full of real joy, creative energy, and wonder. This is the theme and message of my current website, The Joy of Disillusionment, which I heartily invite you to examine.
My journey into rational thought is presented there in some detail for those who may be interested.
