In the 3 main chriatian organizations I belonged to I saw quite a bit of grandstanding, animosity, racism, chauvinism towards less affulent people.
Many people like me with a checkered past were told Jesus would accept us as we were but when push came to shove the church didn't.
In Victory I worked 40 to 50 hours a week in my Masonry business then another 30 in the ministry my wife had to learn how to be a good christian wife so she had to clean the Pastor's house and attend classes daily but my children stayed on their own.
At the Assembly I was given a job ministering to homeless men but told I couldn't have a pastor position because I didn't pray and yell in tongues.
I had went to bible school and community college to get a substance abuse certificate. My having compassion for the people was not enough but I could work 70 hours a week supervising with no authority and I was told the max I could get payed was $350.00 a week with 6 children and no benefits.
