<<prev Hypocrisy, Lies, and Stupidity next>>

My transformation came on the heels of the realization that christianity suffers from three major drawbacks: 1) hypocrisy; 2) lies; and 3) stupidity. Allow me to explain. First, I saw so much hypocrisy among the people who are supposed to be the spiritual leaders of what was my chosen faith. Leaders like Jerry Falwell, Jim Baker, and corprate whore Robert Schuller, as well as the ones from my own church.

Second, the lies promulgated in the bible. Events that can be explained by natural phenomena are claimed to be miracles from god, and some of the events described didn't even happen, i.e. the "Great Flood." Also, I see the blatant disregard for scientific evidence that debunks biblical "facts" and the parents who neglect their childrens' education by perpetuating those lies.

Third, the stupidity of the people who live their whole lives and never question their faith. There are so many people who claim to be christians but never take the time to ask the hard questions that should be asked before they dedicate their entire existences to a faith they don't even understand.

I couldn't stand being associated with an organization that teaches intolerance and lies, and breeds hate and stupidity.
