I did not have a specific moment of "epiphany"; doubt was always there, but to question the faith was unpardonable and some things just never made sense to me even as a young kid. Sometime in my early teens I found out what atheism meant and I called myself an agnostic until I read enough philosophy and critical thinking text to finally realize that I am an atheist!

Knowing that I alone am responsible for my actions and am able to control my life is freeing and a huge relief!!!!

I am not "out" to my family, as they would be crushed, and there is nothing to be gained by it.
