Will of Richard Browne of Fardistown

Details from accompanying papers in Family Bible - Our Grandfather's will. Richard Browne of Fardistown

In the name of God Amen. I Richard Browne of Fardiestown Barony of Fourth being sick and weak But of sound mind and memory I do appoint this my last will and testament, first I Bequeath my soul to God that gave it hoping through the merits of Christ he will have mercy on it, second, my body to the earth Rotteness and worms and I appoint my beloved wife Ann Browne sole executor over all my property within and without so I bequeath her all my land goods and cattle as I always found her a steady sensible woman this forty - two years that we are joined together and when my son
James Browne and my wife Ann will arrange matters for the rest of the children my wife is to make over half to James and all after her death and not to give up her own half whilst she lives on no account, let it not be said that I got land and living by her and left her to sit in the corner without command of anything in her old days, the girls must be looked to and Laurence and get their right as my son John have promised them fifty pounds a piece if there can be so much made at home for them. I got Fardiestown a mountain and now I am leaving it what you may call a proper farm well stocked and all implements belonging to a farmer all in good order there is nothing wanted now houses, furniture, all in repair and the land in the best of order, this my last will and testament the Lord have mercy on my soul Amen.
