Maude Mildrew

Maude Mildrew (MAIPA, AACA, FRS., BA(H), PhD) has worked 14 years as a consulting archaeologist, concentrating on Indigenous heritage in New South Wales and Victoria. Field investigations of Aboriginal coastal archaeology of South Australia and Victoria as project leader, and smaller scale excavations of 19th century colonial and prehistoric/historic contact archaeological sites in Victoria and NSW have been highlights of the last six years of the business. The majority of this work has arisen from compliance requirements for a range of clients, including shire councils, major private developers, as well as state agencies and indigenous communities. A major project in the last year for Maude has been the development of a heritage interpretation plan for early gold exploration camps at Bendigo, Victoria, involving Chinese and Aboriginal heritage sites of regional significance.
