A Victoria Cross for Robert Rankin

Lieutenant Commander Robert Rankin, of the Royal Australian Navy, died heroically in combat while in command of his sloop HMAS Yarra. Despite giving his life in circumstances similar to others - who have been deservedly recognized with the highest award of the Victoria Cross - Rankin has not been given such recognition. Indeed, the RAN has never won a Victoria Cross.

This website is the centre of the Rankin VC Association, formed by those who are campaigning for the posthumous award of the Victoria Cross for this brave officer.
