I have been a keen student and follower of the breeding appraisal method known
as dosage since 1975 and have been using it as a selection tool for the past 10
years or so.
Dosage is a very useful tool in helping choose potential mates for your stock as well as identifying potential racing stock from bloodstock sales, however, it isn't the holy grail and many other issues should also be taken into consideration.
for example in....
YEARLING SELECTION
YOU
May be the best judge of Conformation and Type
around ,
BUT
Can you ACCURATELY Assess a YEARLING’S
potential and ideal distance capabilities from a Catalogue Pedigree page and
achieve an extraordinarily high strike rate of Winners/Selections, Stakeswinners/Selections
or Runners ? SIGHT UNSEEN?
( around 70% winners / runners and well over
50% selections / runners from the 2000 Sale series)
I CAN!!
