“I really don't give two
hoots whether someone has piercings or not. Its an individual
thing. But after reading all the feedback you got in 2006 i must
say some people take it all too seriously. Can't they stand
someone saying anything negative about piercings? Are they so
insecure that no-one is allowed to point out dangers
anymore?” — Brent
“As long as one cleans the piercings and keeps dirty
fingers from playing with the jewellery, there's little risk of
infection. As long as you pick a clean professional to do the
job, and keep the holes clean, there's no reason to fear getting
piercings. The best bet is to go to a good parlor and ask as many
questions as you can. Make sure that the place even has a clean
waiting room!” — Tyer
“If 1 in 5 piercing became infected, there would be a
TREMENDOUS world wide epidemic. Infections need to be treated
seriously with anti biotics. As for 'humourous and unemotional'
comments having preference, I feel is would be alot fairer and
safer if INTELLIGENT and informitive comments where posted with
your comments. It upsets me that I am sometimes not seen as a
respectable Christian due to my various visible piercings, not
because of my personal feelings, but because of the message it is
sending to non beleivers. Jesus spent his time on earth with the
homeless, the diseased, the hated tax collectors.” —
Abigail
“i think that piercings are very cool in certain places
like ears and nose. i have seen some ugly piercing on pictures at
school because we are learning about it in english. we are
looking at you're site it is very useful with either the article
is being biased or not. thank you.” — Kiran
“i for one love piercings and i have 9...7 in my ears,
one in my nose, and one in my lip. Its makes my feel great that i
can be in control of my body and the way i modify it. i could be
doing way worse things than piercing myself, like drugs or
alcohol but i dont. i respect myself more than that, and i think
you should respect me more than that too. so dont judge.”
— Caldwellwit
“I personally don't have a tattoo not because I believe
they are dangerous, which they can be, but because I believe that
tattoos are unnessecary. Many proclaim that the tattoos they
receive are to express their beliefs, some even get a cross, my
argument lies solely in the question as to why you can't express
these same beliefs on jewelry or your clothing or your words.
Perhaps because I have a short attention span, but there is
nothing I would prefer to look at for the rest of my life. Not
getting a tattoo isn't about anything but they respect you have
for the skin you were created in. God gave us beautiful bodies
for a reason, that we wouldn't require such embellishments as
tattoos.” — Ashley
“I have had my bellybutton done 4 almost a year. I had
no problems really and i think its awesome. Thanks for listening.
Bye. Love” — Shayna
“I think that people should not do anything to their
bodies because our Creatoe made us perfect in His image, and if
he wanted humans to have holes all over their body, then he would
of made us with pierced tongues and pierced navels and
such.” — Belen
“I am not a Christian and nor do I ever plan to become
one ... I have five piercings now, and I once had seven, I also
plan to become a body piercer ... you didn't give any good
examples of piercings at all, you merely focused on the bad
things. You also made it seem like the piercings themselves are
at fault, when really it's the people. Everyone should look over
risks of the body piercings they want, check for allergies they
may have concerning jewelry, and how to care for the piercings.
If these are done, and they care for them correctly, then the
drawbacks mentioned on your site are virtually obsolete.”
— Josh
“Hi my name is JarrN and I feel that Piercings and tats
are just away of exspessing yourself. As an exsample: A lot of my
friends are very religus and by exspressing them selfs they have
tats with verses from the bible and crosses on their bodys and I
also have friends that have tons of piercing on them because they
think it looks good and well some they just like the pain and
other then cutting them selfs wicth is very wrong they go out and
get different kinds of piercing, it's like each hole has a
different story to go with it just like tats.” —
JarrN
“Many teens think body piercings are a cool thing. I
used to be one of them. They might be at first but there very
harmful. You can get many different diseases and infections from
them.I had pierced my own nose and tongue in the past and had
gotten an infection.Im lucky i didn't hit the wrong nerve cause
it could have caused major problems to my nervous system. Getting
piercings to fit in isn't worth it. Besides its like a pair of
jeans. You eventually grow out of likeing them.” —
Alyssa
“I am a Christian teen and I have my nose pierced. I
refused to even think about getting it done at any place other
than a Christian tattoo parlor. After 2 years of searching, I
finally found one in downtown Nashville. What supprised me is
even though I always had very bad infections in my ears, but my
nose never got infected. I am happy of my choice, and I do not
regret it.” — Jennifer
“My name is Samantha and I just turned 17. I am an
on-fire christain girl. I love Jesus with all of my heart! I feel
that getting a tattoo or piercing is fine for christians as long
as its for the right reasons. I want to get my nose pierced for
these reasons …
1) In the Bible it says that people got their nose pierced so it
would show that they were a servent. I want to use my nose
piercing as a way to tell people about God! I am a servent of the
most high God!!
2) I think they are so cute!
3) I want to get rid of the stereotype that good christian girls
dont get piercings! I will praise God and people will see that
and know that i love him and honor him even tho i have a
piercing!!!
I believe that it is Gods will for me to have a nose piercing and
i know that he will protect me from anything that could come
against me! ” — Samantha
“I have my nose pierced along with several ear piercings
and i will be the first to admit that my nose piercing was a bad
expierence. I ripped the ring out and it became infected, but i
took care of it soon enough that it wasn't a problem. Even if a
piercing does become infected that doesn't necessicarily mean you
will die! My nose piercing is fine now and i love the way it
looks, I also plan on getting my lip pierced within the next week
and i am planned to take care of it and if anything does go wrong
i will take it out. As a christian teen i think you should be
letting kids know about both sides of piercings not just the ugly
side of them. I think that it is just a personal choice that
should be researched and discussed with your parents before you
get it done. Also NEVER do piercings on your own!!!! you could
hit nerves or arteries and be in serious trouble.” —
Morgan
“I'm 18, I have one tattoo, my septum pierced, and my
ears pierced 15 times. To me, my body is a canvas and body
modifaction is one of the most personal arts I can think of. The
tattoo I have now is my family crest. Getting it permanently put
on my body reminds me everyday of the family name I'm upholding
and my ancestors I must honour. Every other image I plan to get a
tattoo of is something that represents me and the life God has
graced me with. Yes, there are many risks that come along with
piercings and tattoos, but as long as you respect your body
enough to take care of your piercing/tattoo theres nothing wrong
with it. I love your site, by the way.” — Emily
“Honestly, Piercings and Tattoos cannot give you
diseases unless you are careless with them. If they are pierced
properly, cleaned properly and have the proper jewelry in them,
then they will be fine. There are stories of people getting sick
from certain types of jewelry in their body mods, and it can
happen. A lot of people are allergic to Nickel, which is commonly
found in Stainless Steel, so it's better to find a Niobium or
Titanium ring; there is also Internally Threaded Jewelry, which
was created to stop the “cheese grater” effect that
the threading can sometimes give. I am a devout Catholic, and I
have four tattoos and eight piercings, it does not make me any
kind of fool or non-believer to have these.” —
Maggie
“I am a Christian teen, and have my ears and bellybutton
pierced. While everyone quotes Leviticus 19:28 “You shall
not make any cuts in your body for the dead nor make any tattoo
marks on yourselves: I am the LORD” as a reason why we
shouldn't get piercings, there are two things that need to be
considered. 1) Jesus came and gave us two new commandments, in
replacement of all the rules and regulations of the Old
Testament. If your piercings are not harming your relationship
with other people or with God, then go for it! 2) Deut 15:16,17
talks about piercings being a sign of a slave saying to his
master, “I will be your slave forever” (paraphrased).
I see my piercings as a statement that I am a SLAVE to GOD and
that GOD is my MASTER.” — Rosy
“i have my left ear with 3 earlobe hoops and i have
scaffholding in my top left ear which i done myself, in my right
ear i have an 11mm hole which i done myself also, i have my
tonuge done and will be getting it streched in the near future im
also getting my eyebrow and lip done in the near funture and i
think it is all great, but i would like to say that i dont
understand why people assume that because people get peircings
and tattoos it has to be because they have peer presure or they
are on drugs...i dont do drugs and i diddnt get any peer presure
i choose to get the peircings myself because i enjoy the feeling
and look of them.” — Tom
“Have schools stoppped teaching kids how to spell?
” — Sassa
“The article about piercings was a little misleading.
The worst op the worst cases of piercing mishaps were used as
examples. The article really wasn't about piercings; it was about
the problems that happen if the piercings aren't taken care of,
or done improperly. A piercing will not cause problems if done in
a professional manner, by a professional, and it is taken care of
the proper way until it heals.” — Laura
“so people.. if you want a piercing.. go to a many
different shops ask questions look around.. is the piercer
wearing gloves well they do your piercing? are your tools coming
from a package and have they been autoclaved? are they disposing
of your needle in a biohazard waste container?.. remember anyone
can say they are a piercer...” — Emma
“I love piercings, my favourite is 2 crossed over on
back of neck and all 4 sides of Navel. ” — Demii
“I personaly dont like piercings at all. Make you look
like dork.” — Lumalei
