Ever feel like you are living in a black hole - an endless vortex, spinning out of control?
Lost in some, Inner Space with no control over the future and hazy recollections of the past?
Not just the distant memories of childhood, but perhaps the events of last week, yesterday - what
someone said to you an hour ago.
|
Now we're not talking about the morning after the last big party you went to (although the similarities
are there, we admit!) What we are describing is indicative of the aftermath of an acquired brain injury
- ABI. An injury caused to the brain due to accident. ( Not self inflicted due to partying beyond
the call of duty!)
'Aw - but we were having fun! Why do we have to read all this depressing stuff, ReTroGrrl?'
Dear, dear people! We gave you fun. We gave you laughter. We gave you HTML Heaven. Now is it too much
to ask for your attention on a matter most important? Hmm, okay maybe it is ... however ReTroGrrl
will not sway from the task of educating you lot! What's that? You'll stay? Oh, bless your little cotton
mouse pads! Read on, fellow space travellers ......
Let us now introduce ReTroGrrl's partner in crime and Grand Keeper of The Computer, RetroMan. RetroMan is an
ABI affected personage. (um, ABI - I C U 2 - T 4 2 ... )
How did this happen?
During a vital interstellar daytrip, RetroMan was rudely intercepted by an alien being, who totally
ignored the active lunar beacon. This resulted in RetroMan's Galactic Honda Pod vaporising on
impact : luckily for RetroMan, his head did not also atomise - unluckily, however, it did make contact
with a passing meteorite.
Oh My! Then what?
The Space Patrol whisked him away in the Jupiter 2 to the nearest NeuroCenter of the Universe, whereupon
Dr Smith performed brilliant Brain surgery ... RetroMan's little grey cells had tried to astrotravel from
the confines of their bony shell, found they could not leave, and therefore tried to cause an
internal revolution! Dr Smith foiled this nasty little attempt at anarchy.
Happy ending?
Dear Friends, RetroMan is alive and well today. No longer touring the webiverse on his Galactic Honda Pod of course,
(The Super62 StellarHolden Hydromatic is much safer!) he nevertheless is not quite the same Rocketeer he
used to be.
ReTroGrrl has deemed therefore, that this Space City be dedicated to RetroMan, and others like him, in order to further the
education of the masses (that's you lot again!) and provide information and useful links for those who feel the need.
Moon walk across to the Nerve Center
for brain bits, the Reactor Bay
for coping bits, take a Space Walk
for some recovery bits, or run a few tests in the Medic
Lab for some health bits.
