Bill Haldane - Clarinet

bill.jpg (3163 bytes)Bill took up clarinet at the age of 16, and studied classical music until he was 19 years old. He did his National service in the RAF and played in various station bands around England. Namely the 5/6th Battalion and the Highland Light Infantry between 1960 and 1965. He transferred to the RAAF Central band in Australia in 1967. Became an in demand instrumental teacher on saxaphone and clarinet. He also played with several big bands around Melbourne including the Max Causin Big Band, Frank Charles and Brendon Trott groups. He has been very active in pit work in the Geelong and Ballarat theatrical scenes. The Grovelanders feel they are very fortunate to have such an experienced and professional musician in the front line.
