I like your design except that since the
olympics everyone knows about our current flag

Let's put it this way, i was born in sydney
but i don't have a british ancestry. My ancestors where from Spain,
Czech Republic, France and Germany, and that does not make me anti-british,
so neither should the majority of australians, because the majority
DOES have a British past. I don't see the Union Jack as the flag
of other people, i see the union jack as part of our society. I
believe that when the first europeans came to australia, the union
jack was there flag, and that's why i consider the union jack an
australian icon too. The union jack represents our language, democracy
and a lot of other stuff, and that's why i support the current flag.
I wouldn't vote for your flage because it only has stars, i think
you should add more things to it, but beware, if we keep changing
our national symbols from time to time, that flag will be changed
too, which means that we don't appreciate our national symbols.
Let's keep the flag just as it is, TRUE BLUE

I think you have put a great deal of thought
into your design. The design should not anger the monarchists, the
servicemen who fought under the flag and it also provides a link to
our aboriginal heritage. My only criticism is you do not have a rating
box for excellent. |

why change it for the sake of changing it.....
The ANF was good enough for me to fight under, it is good enough for
the people who won't... |

It would be a pity to lose the union jack,
but the southern cross is the most impotant feature of our flag. |

I have no idea who you are, but I want to
tell you your design for the Australian flag is brilliant. I am American,
living in Chicago, so you didn't want my opinion in your survey. But
I'm emailing your design to all my Australian friends tonight. Good
luck. |

The official shoe of Australia should be
Nike, should your flag be adopted. Your website mentions that the
Australian flag contains a flag of another country. This is not unique.
The Liberian flag and, to some extent, the Cuban flag is modeled after
the USA flag. The USA flag looks like the Malaysian flag. If Indonesia
and Monaco got into a war, they wouldn't know who is the enemy. Several
Latin American countries have similar flags. |

I like the design - the symbolisms as described
by you are very relevant - but the colours red and black will not
be accepted by "mainstream" Australians - it is my firm
belief that Australia is is not ready for a flag that represents anything
"too" Aboriginal!!! |

I like the flag a great deal - it strikes
a good balance. Unfortunately, most Australians are not going to
vote for a flag that has a great deal of change from the original.
Also, I believe the Aboriginal people should have a flag of their
own, as part of their unique identity. Yours combines both the need
to be popularly successful, with recognition of Australian heritage,
and an aesthetic design.

I feel very strongly that the colours should
be green and gold - they are very clearly the colours that Australians
identify with - just look at what people wore during the Olympics
(spectators and competitors). And so many other countries use red
and blue, it's just too common. |

A good design that melds in an Indigenous
theme without it overpowering the rest of the flag. A vast improvement
on what we have. Keep up the good work - someday it will come. |

I think that the flag that I preferred (from
above) would look better if the red was outlined in white. |

I do not live in Australia - so I shall
not vote. I just love Australia, so I just wanted to let you know
how much I like you "new" flag. Yes, it's about time Aussies
get rid of the Brit syndrom in them. Good Luck. |
