For normal operation no special requirements. Just plug in and go. For setup mode execution use the Signal Line Switch and Failsafe Receivers Signal Line Switch method. The PCM method as described in booklets with these winches will not work without the Signal Line Switch. Note: The Failsafe Receivers Signal Line method mentions 10 second count down. Ignore the 10 and take it as 5 in this case.
For normal operation there are 3 solutions to choose from.
If Pulser is used then for setup mode execution use the Signal Line Switch and Failsafe Receivers Signal Line Switch method. The PCM method as described in booklets with these winches will not work without the Signal Line Switch.
For normal operation no special requirements. Just plug in and go. For setup mode execution use the Failsafe Receivers Push/Pull method. In the booklet with these winches, the standard setup mode is described but needs to be run per the Failsafe Receivers method in the booklet. The online version combines the two into a simpler to understand procedure. The Pulser and Signal Line Switch are not needed for these winches.

Pulser
|
This picture shows the Pulser in place between winch and receiver. This is an option for winches produced from May 11 2004 to March 31 2005. It works by producing a pulse for the winch as soon as it's powered up (at the same time as the winch). Once the 2.4 GHz receiver starts producing it's own pulse (2 seconds later) this signal will replace the one from the Pulser and the winch can then be controlled by the 2.4 GHz system. To run setup with the Pulser in place the signal line switch must be used. See below. |

Pulser and Signal Line Switch
|
To execute setup when a Pulser is used a signal line switch must be used. This shows both the Pulser and a removable signal line switch. The switch must be between the winch and Pulser and not between Pulser and rx. The switch is only used for setup mode and should be removed during normal use. See below for more detail on the switch lead. |

Signal Line Switch
|
In the case of all pre May 11 '04 winches the Pulser is of no use but if the standard wiring method is used, the signal line switch is still required to enable setup mode to work correctly. The lead used for the switch is a servo extension lead. Easy enough for the average person to make. Or purchase from us for $10 + gst + freight. It is only the signal line that is switched. The + and - lines must not be switched. Click here for a better picture for those wanting to make their own. Any toggle switch can be used.
