The 380ES and 380EH are now back in production.

New to the drums list are the 55zs4 and 55zs4st. Also the 45zs4 and 55zs4 drums can be used in either direction (left or right hand direction).

11/2/09 Production delays

The proposed new model 280EF which was earlier predicted to be ready last month will not be available until around mid year. Also the 380ES and 380EH are also still delayed. We are very sorry for the inconvenience but the delays are beyond our control.

Happy New Year. 2009 is the 25th year of operation for RMG Sailwinch. I was making winches for a few years before 1984 but it was 25 years ago that I sold my first production sailwinch. Michele and I are proud to have had the opportunity to serve the RC Yachting community in Australia and many other countries over the last couple of decades. We've come a long way from those early days making a few sail winches a year for club mates to now when we make nearly 1000 units per year of which about 75% is exported to all continents. It is also 10 years (Feb) since I gave up the "day job" and became a full time winch maker. And for several years Michele has also been full time in the business. How time flies when you're having fun!!

1/1/09 New Models Update

Availability is now about one week for 280's. The 380's will not be available till late Jan due to a hold up in motor supply. We apologize for this delay.

We will be away interstate attending the Australian Nationals between Jan 8 and Jan 18. So repairs and new orders will be delayed during this time.

10/12/08 New Models Update

Production has begun of the new models however we have a large backorder list so we apologize for the delay we clear the back log. We expect availability of new orders to be about 3 weeks.

The new E models booklet has been updated some some late changes and is available online. See link at left.

The 280EF is now unlikely to be ready for production until late January. Field testing is continuing.

This produces more tension and return spool travel. When ordering 32 mm or 42 mm ST drums, direction of travel must be specified. See the ST Drums page for details.

13/11/08  New range of SmartWinch models soon to be released.

The D models are no longer available. They are being replaced by the E models. The  difference being a new electronic controller..
