News at Eminem Arabians (2008) ….

November 2008 - Smooge was scanned and is not in foal. We will now wait until early December to serve her again. All the horses had their teeth done last week - one less job out of the way. Chester is about to be weaned - he will not be a happy boy but Rowy will be pleased.

Poor Maggie ended up developing an infection and mastitis. After a week of anitbiotics she has now recovered and is back in the paddock bossing the other fillies around.

Very sad news - my crappy luck continues with Magnifique foaling dead twins, a bay filly and a chestnut colt. I am now giving Maggie lots and lots hugs, poor girl and poor me, it is very sad to lose one foal but to lose two is devastating.

Some good news is that Smooge has visited Brampton Pony Studs 'Manildra Rob Roy', hopefully she is now in foal. Eminem Phantasia has not returned so I am hoping she is in foal to Moonlite Gande. Rowallan Crest will be served by Gande once Chester has been weaned which will not be far off.

October 2008 - Effi is now at her new home at Yukon Park Arabians at Tarcutta. Magnifique has only a few weeks to go before she foals. She is huge and very uncomfortable the poor girl, I have my fingers crossed that the filly fairy might visit.

I will be kept busy over the next few weeks, I picked up a job with the Education Dept as Presiding Officer for the HSC and School Certificate and once this is finished I will have Xmas concerts and dance nights to shuffle Isabelle off to and then it will be harvest time (hopefully).

The stud season has commenced with Gande serving one mare so far.

Here are pictures of the new pups, Boss and Sasha.

Wyreema Sash

Wyreema Boss

Two new additions will arrive at the end of this week (6th October). Purebred kelpie pups, Boss - a black and tan male and Sasha - a red and tan female. Thankyou to Gordon and Narnie McMaster from Wyreema Kelpies at Narrandera for allowing us to purchase these pups. I promised Gordon I would not spoil them, they are working dogs and not pets - gosh this is going to be hard.........

September 2008 - (Monday 22nd September 2.30pm) Below is our front gate on a clear day, below that is the dust storm we are currently experiencing, a big fat YUCK. I am sitting in the office and all you can smell is dust and you can taste dust .............. I know I shouldn't have washed the windows and cleaned the outside of the house yesterday, look what I stirred up????

Eminem Shahrona has been purchased by Janet Carter . Janet has also purchased the lovely bay colt, Yukon Park Kyros from Barry and Lyn Peel and together both Shahrona and Kyros will make the trip to their new home at Murrabit in Victoria.

I have obviously opened one too many umbrellas inside because my luck is just crappy at the moment. I lost my gorgeous border collie 'Zac' at the end of August and the following day 'Chester' decided to run into a fence post and give himself a couple of nasty gashes along his neck.

Trista Baz contacted me to let me know that Eminem Sharmoo is doing really well. In January 2007 he went to his first show and did very well winning classic head, classic trot, 1st gelding under 2 and then taking out champion lead gelding. He has been broken in and will be shown under saddle in the spring. It was great to hear from her and we wish her continued success with Sharmoo.

August 2008 - Great news is that a stallion I used to own has now come back home. 'Moonlite Gande' (Delhi x Delia {Razaz}) has returned to live out the rest of his days here at Eminem Arabians.

Eminem Phoenix has been sold to Jo-Anne Sharkey from Sydney and Eminem Serendipity has been sold to Barry and Lyn Peel from Yukon Park Arabians at Tarcutta.

Rowallan Crest has foaled a lovely big bay/grey colt by Eminem Phoenix. He is fit and healthy and already running his mother from one end of the paddock to the other.

I have had a set back with Jazz's foot becoming infected. This is disappointing because the rest of the wounds are healing really well.

July 2008 - Eminem Khourvacious 'Jazz' has had a 2 week stay at the vet due to injuries to her hind legs after being entangled in a fence. Unfortunately she will be unable to be shown so she will remain here with us and join our broodmare team in a few years time. It will be a long road to recovery but she is worth every minute of it.

Phoenix has been staying at Lyn and Barry Peel's, Yukon Park Arabians, where their son Christopher has been working him. Christopher has had Phoenix doing a bit of everything even cattle work.

Rowy is only a couple of weeks away from giving birth to a foal by Eminem Phoenix.

May 2008 - Sarah Boler sent me these fantastic photos of her and Jinks (Eminessence) under saddle. She is having wonderful success in the hacking and dressage arenas. Congratulations to Sarah and Jinks on their continued success.

Dahma and Maggie have settled in well to their new surroundings and have loved all the attention.

Effi and Jazz have now been taught to float and have been turned out in the paddock.

Eminem Providence has been booked to the Palomino stallion Manildra Rob Roy, reg. Welsh B, Arabian Pony, Approved Riding Pony owned by Brampton Pony Stud near Wagga. At this stage Currowan Gabby Azeem will be heading back to Jenny Shepphard at Batemans Bay to her black stallion Currowan Mojo and we are still lookiing for a stallion to send Hollyford Park Symphony to.

April 2008 - The big news is that I have purchased from Allan and Kaye Anderson of Royal Court Arabians, the gorgeous black filly "Al - Dahma" and the lovely bay filly "Magnifique" who is in foal to their resident stallion "Naazaar". The purchase of Dahama sees my dream of owning a black filly finally come true and I cannot wait to get her out on the show circuit and also attempt to breed some black foals. Magnifique has bloodlines back to my favourite stallion Padron, she is the sweetest mare and her foal to Naazaar should be very special.

The young fillies, Effi and Jazz have been weaned much to their mothers relief. I was thrilled to see both of their photos (Number 2 and 7) in the foal section of the March Arabian Horse News. We decided to sell our half share in Rahan Narkita and she is now owned by Barry and Lyn Peel of Yukon Park Arabians.

We had some success in the online show run by Arabs Inc with the following results:-

* Eminem Phoenix was placed 3rd in the gelding 4yrs and under 7yrs

* Eminem Phantasia was placed 3rd in the 3ys filly

* Eminem Shahrona was placed 3rd in the yearling filly

* Eminem Jessabelle and Eminem Shahrona were placed 1st in the Dams progeny group of 2

* Eminem Jessabelle and Eminem Phantasia were placed 3rd in the Sires progeny group of 2

This was a great result, we are very happy with all our ribbons.

March 2008 - The decision was made early in the month to geld Eminem Phoenix. He is recovering well from his operation and still thinks he is king of the castle.

The stud also lost Atlantis Park Kestral, pictured below with her colt foal Eminem Sharmoo.

Eminem Serendipity (Effi) and Eminem Phoenix won a third place ribbon in the online foal show for the foal who looks most like their sire.

February 2008 - Both Jazz and Effi have been taught to lead and tie up, they have been a dream to work with. Both fillies are now running in the lucerne and will be weaned at Easter time. I entered both Jazz and Effi in an online foal show, their pictures are now up online and we will find out if they have been successful in a few weeks time. Jess has settled into University, Isabelle has settled into her new school and Ella is nearly off and running.

January 2008 - The farm has not got off to a good start in 2008. One of our hay stacks burnt to the ground and we lost over 150 big square bales of wheaten hay. A big loss to start off the new year.
