Robgai Collies

Robgai Collies began in early 1969 with the introduction of our first collie, a tri colour dog from Rouseglen Kennels, known at Rouseglen Mark Twain (King). A very special and much loved dog who served and taught us well. We had very limited success, as do most who start out with their first collie, but the bug had bitten.

Next came a sable bitch bred by Jenrock Kennels, Jenrock Scottish Lass (Tina).

It was not until the introduction of the tri colour bitch Dalwood Dusky Jubilee (Cindy) into our home that the foundation of our kennel was formed.

Cindy gained her Championship Title in fine style. One of her best noted wins being Best Exhibit in Show at our breed Open Show from the puppy class at the tender age of 9 months (entry 100), also came Best Exhibit In Groups along the way to her title. All our dogs can be traced directly back to this bitch. From there we have grown to become known as one of the top Collie kennels in Victoria.

Cindy's most noted son Aust. Ch Robgai Aberdeen Blu (Skye) was himself a multi Best In Show All Breeds/RBISS winner, amassing over 1400 challenge points.

His lovely tri colour daughter Aust. Ch Robgai Dark Luster (Mandy), when bred to Braeden Star Maker produced 5 champion get. They are:-

In 1990 came the acquisition of our first import from Judy Evans of Clarion Collies fame Clarion Down Under (Imp USA) (Dick). This infusion into our line was one of excellent choice and quality. When first bred to Aust Ch. Robgai Rain Seeker (Bronnie), this breeding produced four (4) champions which include

Aust Ch. Robgai Frosty Sunrise (Frosty) a Best In Show All Breeds,

Aust Ch. Robgai The Ambassador (Bass)

Aust Ch Robgai Tailor Made (Tailor),

and Aust. Ch. Robgai Southern Lights (Teddy), who themselves have all bred on.

We then leased a bitch from Zora Mitchell of the renowned Braeden Kennels. Aust Ch. Braeden Star Scene producing, Aust Ch. Robgai Rain Lord (Cody) a Best in Show All Breed and Group Winner.

Also his brother Robgai Rain Bandit owned by Jenny Wales (Cherrylea Collies) in New South Wales, who has sired some outstanding get.
