Rover P4 Driver's Guild Of Australia About Us The Rover P4 Drivers' Guild of Australia (Inc.) is a unique car club dedicated to the preservation, restoration, enjoyment and use of P4 Rovers (1950-1964). The Club also has a number of earlier (pre war and post war) vehicles represented in its inventory.Membership is open to anyone owning or having genuine interest in these unique vehicles. Owning a vehicle is not a prerequisite for Guild membership. Membership includes partner and immediate family. Although the Guild is based in Melbourne, membership is Australia wide with representation in all states except the Northern Territory. Guild members from interstate often travel to Victoria to attend functions. Our Club has many fine examples of the ten different models in the P4 range which were made over the years. The owners of these cars (many of which are “daily drivers”) are justifiably proud and enjoy displaying them Many of our members are extremely knowledgeable when it comes to P4s (and other models of the Rover marque) and are always willing to offer advice and assistance whenever circumstances arise. We are acutely aware that many P4 enthusiasts in states other than Victoria are loth to join because of the distance factor and with this in mind the Guild is keen to promote “regional chapters” in other states ~ please contact the Secretary if you are interested in instigating such a scheme. Our fees, we believe, are very reasonable with a once only joining fee of $5.00 and an annual membership fee of $30.00 (after June 30th, $15.00)
Our MissionThe Guild works on the principle of “once they’ve gone, they’ve gone forever” . Hence, we follow up all leads, salvage what can be saved and, whenever possible and practicable, restore the cars to their former glory.
ProfileOur membership, as at January 2006, stands at 50. There are positive signs that this will increase substantially as interest in P4s as a practical, unusual classic car is growing. Therefore, if you are at all interested learning more, please don’t hesitate to contact the Guild for more details. We will gladly forward you a brochure, application form and a copy of a recent Magazine. Our meetings are conducted on the 4th Tuesday of each month, except December & January* at the Oakleigh RSL Club commencing at 8.00p.m. Prior to the meeting, many members meet for a meal at a local hotel / restaurant. * The December meeting takes the form of a “get together” and lunch at the home of one of the members on the second Sunday of December. There is no meeting in January.
