Smartlock

Post 8/93 falcons are fitted with smartlock.

The red smartlock module receives a data block from the ignition switch. If it's OK the Smartlock module sends out a 32 bit, 1ms pulsewidth datablock to the ECU. If that datastream is correct then the injectors will work. If not the motor won't run.

It seems that the ECU has some capability to "learn" that datastream. Therefore it seems to me that if a PIC chip was programmed to output pretty well any 32bit datablock, the ECU could learn that data and the red smartlock module would be obsolete.

    Needs further research...........

If you have any further insights into this I'd like to hear from you.
